INFLUENCES
Major Musical Influence(s): I can hear that I've been influenced by Old School Madonna and a lot of 80's Dance and Freestyle music. Debbie Gibson's "Out of The Blue" was a big, big influence. However, I'd have to say that my biggest musical influence would have to be Mariah Carey. Growing up, I just dug every track she ever did. (Of course, this is in addition to all the types of music I like... so... all the artists that I've listed below are also a part of my heart.)

I just found her voice to be surprisingly smooth against these energetic and fun rock beats and... it was just another solid album with all hitters.) Camile Velasco (my fave American Idol of all-time. So glad to see she got a record deal with Universal. Her first single "Hangin' On" is dope.)

Fragrance: i like light and semi-sweet fragrances. way too many to mention but my current favorites are Lolita Lempicka, Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue, Jennifer Lopez' Still and Burberry Brit. My perfume collection is so precious to me. I love the way fragrances make me feel.

PERSONALLY: i like down to earth people. Arrogant people are my least favorite. they just don't be knowin'! personality counts for A LOT. while i'm an ambitious person with goals for my future, i'm not competitive with anyone else besides myself. when i look at things and people, i always tend to look for the positives. i like to see the beauty in everything and not in a corny
way but just seriously... when i meet someone, i notice the things that are beautiful about a person (on the inside and out) instead of the things that they imagine to be flaws. i'm very comfortable in my own skin... i know my strengths and my weaknesses and have always been able to just be myself around other people. The word people most described me as growing up was "weird". i'm very hyper around my friends and love making them laugh. Out of all my girls, I am Most Likely to be found on Girls Gone Wild! I enjoy simple pleasures like laughing, eating, sleeping, People who are quick to hate, judge, or criticize... they can do what they want, but that's not my style. The strength I have, from my faith, keeps me from allowing others to break my soul.
LIKES AND DISLIKES
Likes: I am in awe of nature; simple things like the sky, the grass and fresh flowers. Of course, I love music... so my days are always filled with time for singing, dancing, putting on a record, buying a CD or playing the piano. (oh, I just learned how to play the Tahitian Banjo (well, a couple of chords, anyways). I truly have a passion for creating things... anything. And I really like quiet times and peacefulness. Just being able to spend quality time with my loved ones is what I look forward to at the end of the day.
Dislikes: negativity and fake people. I don't waste any time immersing myself in things of that nature. Life is short. I know what really matters.
Passions: Photography and Graphic Design. (I guess that's why I like magazines so much.) I love images. I love beautiful ads. I love taking pictures and I like leafing through album booklets. Because of that, I really wanted to be involved in the design of my own album booklet. The visual elements of things can strike me just as much as the audio elements.

Describe your ideal mate: I like someone with a cool sense of humor. Not obnoxiously funny but just witty and natural. I like someone that's secure with himself to be just who he is. It shows confidence,strength and honesty... some other qualities that I like in a person. Lastly, because this is my ideal, I also like the guy to be romantic, attentive, intelligent, understanding and interesting. What can I say? I'm a Pisces. Basically, we want it all. LOL
Have you ever been in love: Yes. My album is gonna be a reflection of that.
SHARYN ON HER CAREER
Proudest career achievement so far: writing and performing a song that reached Billboard charts. Even though there's been so much hoopla and stuff regarding "Hard to Get", just hearing so many people tell me that "Hard to Get" is one of their favorite songs, that's enough to make me proud.
Brunette ambition: I hope to make records until I don’t want to make records anymore
What do you think has been the key to your success? Besides the fact that I've been given so much support from the people around me, I would say that the key to my success is that I'm self-motivated and I'm self-reliant. While I would never say that I could do this all on my own, I do know that I constantly try to help myself get to where I want to go and do the things I want to do.
If you couldn't be a singer anymore, what would you be?: I would probably continue being a songwriter, writing for other artists. I've also had the opportunity to start producing and remixing... so I think I would like to do work in that field as well. I could see myself writing books, like a "how-to" or maybe even poetry books and I would love to continue my hosting career, one day, because I had fun experiences doing that when I had the opportunity. Basically, I believe that I'll remain working in some type of creative field- whether it be for myself or for young children who need help to develop their creativity, because that is where my true passion lies.
