FAQ

sharyn.net-about-FAQ.jpg

Q. How is your name pronounced?

A. It's pronounced SHARE-in muh-SARE-in.

Q. Your first single "Hard to Get"- what's the story behind that?

A. When that record was released, the label put it out under the name "The S Factor". Although people think that "The S Factor" was a group, it was basically just me. I've since parted ways that label and as you all know, I now record music under my own name. While there currently may be other releases with the name "The S Factor," I am not involved in any of those releases.

Q. How long does it take you to finish a song?

A. On average, it takes me about 5-10 minutes to write a song. I might do a couple of revisions here and there, but I don't usually have to do too much after that.

Q. About how many songs total have you written?

A. I've probably written at least a thousand. It's very easy for me to write songs. In the last year, I have been fortunate to record about 50 songs ... and I'm planning on releasing at least a few of them on this next upcoming album and most likely, the album after that. Glenn gets weary, a lot of times though, because he knows when it's time to record album #3, I'm probably going to write 3 more albums worth of music. (laughing) It really is a challenge, though, when you write as much music as I do. Having to pick and choose... we always have to keep reminding ourselves that the remaining songs can be used on a future album.

Q. Do you only write music for yourself?

A. No, I'm beginning to write music for other artists and have been hired to write a lot of music for M:G's sophomore album.

Q. Do you write all your own music?

A. Yes. On on all my records (up to this day), I have written all my own lyrics and all my own music, including "Hard to Get."

Q. What about producing?

A. I've pretty much always had a hand in production while working on my music. As a person who is totally concerned with how my music comes out, I've been really fortunate to work with people who respect my visions and ideas... and who work hard to help me translate those visions. Currently, Glenn has asked me to team up with him for our production label, extralicious.com, where I have already had the opportunity to co-produce music for my 2nd album as well as music for another artist, (Upstairs Records Recording Artist) Angelina.

Q. What are your biggest passions?

A. My biggest passions include singing, songwriting, graphic design, and photography. Because I also work on a lot of my own artwork, I have the opportunity to indulge in all these passions at once... & I love it!

Q. Where do you get your inspiration?

A. Lyrically, I usually write from my own experience. On rare occasions, I'll write a song about things I see around me and sometimes, I'll write a song on the spot, for my friends, just for fun. Musically, I can tell I get inspiration from all the music I've ever loved from the past until now... I love so many different genres of music... and my style is just different combinations of those styles.

Q. Do you have any advice? I'm an aspiring singer.

A. Be educated about the business. Surround yourself with people you respect and trust to be on your team. Study your craft. Pray and love what you do. When you love what you do, obstacles never seem as hard.

Q. Where are you from?

A. For more personal info, check out my profile.
