Sharyn Maceren is a Billboard Top 40 Bestselling Dance and Freestyle Recording Artist from the San Francisco Bay Area, best known for her debut hit single “Hard to Get” released under the alias The S Factor. Produced by Slammin' Sam, the record became a defining West Coast freestyle anthem and cemented Sharyn’s place in Bay Area freestyle history.

A ’90s-influenced West Coast Freestyle & Dance representative, Sharyn writes all of her own lyrics and melodies and has remained independent from the very beginning. She is the founder of her own imprint, Ocean Dream Records, and has released five full-length albums—three of them entirely independently—while continuing to build a career rooted in artistic ownership and creative freedom.

Sharyn began writing music as a pre-teen, practicing songwriting daily with the goal of releasing a record immediately. That dream became reality—and led to an unexpected milestone when “Hard to Get” reached the Billboard Dance sales chart, where she shared chart space with artists like Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott.

Influenced by classic ’80s freestyle legends such as Debbie Deb, The Cover Girls, Sweet Sensation, Stevie B, Cynthia, Johnny O, Lisa Lisa, Lil' Suzy, Trinere, George Lamond, and others, Sharyn’s work became part of a core Bay Area 90-s inspired freestyle sound alongside artists such as Jocelyn Enriquez, Angelina, Buffy, Josette, M:G, and SF Spanish Fly.

Over the course of her career, Sharyn has performed at Freestyle festivals and clubs, sharing stages with many of the artists who inspired her—bringing her journey full circle. Known for her high-energy live shows and melodic, sing-along anthems, Sharyn continues to represent freestyle culture while shaping its future.

Her current era, “Ultra-Inspired Heaven-Sent” Freestyle, focuses on future-forward anthems with classic energy—music created for the heart, mind, body, and soul.
